Bam Adebayo nearly made history with one of the greatest scoring performances the NBA has seen in a while.
Adebayo scored 83 points in a single game, which is now the second-highest total in league history. He passed Kobe Bryant, who scored 81 points in 2006, and now only sits behind Wilt Chamberlain, who scored 100 points in 1962.
The Miami Heat star dominated the whole game. He shot 20 for 43 from the field and seven for 22 from three-point range. He also went 36 for 43 from the free throw line, setting a record for free throws made and attempted.
Adebayo added nine rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks to go along with his scoring performance.
“I was just locked in,” Adebayo said after the game. “My teammates kept finding me, and I just kept scoring.”
This performance was one of the best in NBA history and one of the most unexpected. This performance will be remembered for a long time. Even though he didn’t break the record, Adebayo proved he can take over a game at the highest level, and it is possible to break that scoring title and get over 100 points in a game.
