The Southeastern Conference (SEC) hosts a basketball tournament for the schools in the conference. This includes colleges such as Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, and twelve others in the region. This is a single elimination tournament between the 16 teams.
This tournament is annually held in March and mostly in Nashville, TN, at the Bridgestone Arena. SEC Tournament brought about 244,831 fans to Nashville. This boosts the business in the city as well. Many fans are seen up and down Broadway representing their team’s colors.
In the 2026 SEC Tournament Arkansas came out with the win against Vanderbilt. Darius Acuff Jr. helped the team to this win with 30 points and 11 assists. This was Arkansas’ first win in the SEC Tournament. Former Kentucky Coach, John Calipari, was the first coach to win tournament titles at two different schools, one at Arkansas and one at Kentucky.
Kentucky made it to the Quarterfinals but lost against Florida. They were up for the first half of the game, but they fell behind and lost. However, they had a monumental win against LSU with a buzzer beater. LSU was winning 74-73 until Malachi Moreno made a last second shot that went in and won them the game.
Overall, the SEC Tournament provides a space for fans to get together and support their team.
