On February 13, Brent Faiyaz finally dropped his new album ‘Icon’. After he deleted his Instagram, and delayed the album for months everyone thought he was trolling, it’s actually here, and it’s something new.
The album is basically the “happy” version of Faiyaz because he finally stopped singing about drama and ghosting. Instead of acting like he doesn’t care;he sounds like he’s actually in love and wants to stay with one person. Even the music feels different; it’s not dark or moody anymore. It has a warm, ’90s R&B vibe, that makes you want to dance instead of just sitting in your room being sad.
The music sounds super smooth and “old school.” He worked with a legend named Raphael Saadiq, so it feels like ’90s R&B but in 2026. There are no features at all, so it’s just Faiyaz’s voice the whole time. The album is 10 songs long. The standard version of Faiyaz’s new album, Icon, is exactly 33 minutes and 35 seconds long.
He even released a “Director’s Cut” version a few days later that adds some extra tracks like “Full Moon (Fall in Tokyo).” This version makes the album feel more like a movie, showing that Faiyaz is moving on from his “villain” era and trying to be a better person. It’s the perfect album to play if you’re actually catching feelings for someone.
