China’s help with the movie’s success can’t be denied. According to NBC NEWS, “Disney’s “Zootopia 2” became the highest-grossing animated foreign film ever in China, despite generally muted interest in overseas movies in the country.” It’ll be interesting to see if Disney takes this as a sign to pander to Chinese audiences and how that’ll change the contents of their movies moving forward.
