Many new movies have been released this past month including “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere,” “One Battle After Another,” “Tron: Ares,” “Black Phone 2,” and “Regretting You.” “Regretting You” was released on October 24 and has already gained major popularity. The director, Josh Boone,,used the book by Colleen Hoover and turned it into a feature film
The story is about a teenage girl named Clara who lives with her mom, Morgan and her father, Chris. Clara’s life turned upside down after an accident involving her father, and her aunt, Jenny, who she is very close with. This event altered their family tremendously when Jenny and her brother in-law, Jonah, discovered a terrible secret the two were keeping. This grief was taking a toll on Clara, which led to constant fighting with her mom, but during this time she met Miller. Miller was Claras’ light in these dark times. He kept Clara going despite her hardships. While this was happening Jonah and Morgan developed feelings for each other. Clara did not approve of this, but she learned about what her father and aunt did. In the end she just wanted her mom to be happy and Morgan wanted the same for Clara.
There are many amazing actors in the movie who showcase their talents greatly, one including Mason Thames who plays Miller Adams in this movie. He is 18 years old and debuted his acting career in 2021 playing Finney Shaw in “The Black Phone.” He recently has starred in many other movies including “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Incoming,” “Monster Summer,” and the recently released “Black Phone 2.” If “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Black Phone 2,” and “Regretting You” all open up at number one this will be the first time any actor has had three movies open up at number one since Jim Carrey.
Another is Mckenna Grace who plays Clara Grant. Grace is 19 years old and has been acting since she was five. She has been featured in “Gifted,” “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” “Young Sheldon,” “Annabelle Comes Home,” “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” and “The Bad Seed.” Grace was raised in Dallas-Fort Worth. When she was younger she participated in beauty pageants and was crowned “Tiny Miss Texas.”
This film has been the second movie the duo has worked on together. The first time they worked together was in “New Year’s Rev.” This movie was a comedy, based on a band created by Green Day.
Overall, the connection between Grace and Thames makes the story come to life and their talents are displayed greatly.
