President Donald Trump announced in early February that he was abolishing the scientific fact that climate change hurts the environment, including the people and animals within it. He also denounced the government’s ability to control pollution. This is going to potentially cause negative effects on the environment, since pollution was already causing issues when the government was doing some to help the problem.
President Trump has made claims, such as this one in the past; this is nothing new. An example would be his claim back in his first term as president in 2018, he said that climate change was not a man-made problem. He did claim it was a real problem. Now he completely denies it as real.
Scientists within the U.S. and around the world are reprehending his claim, saying he cherry picks data for his own agenda. The agenda is the pursuit of coal, oil, and gas production for use. All of these release harmful greenhouse gases, the main cause of climate change, into the atmosphere, which then heat up the Earth.
Data has shown that Trump’s claim is untrue, considering the fact that global temperatures have risen by 2.5 degrees Fahrenheit, compared to before industrial times. This is very concerning as a rise of 2.7 to 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit from preindustrial times is considered to be in the critical threshold where climate impact becomes irreversible.
President Trump’s announcement is going to allow climate change to create irreversible damage to the planet. This is now going to make it even more imperative that people around the world do what they can to make an environmental impact, since now, the U.S. government will no longer be addressing the issue of climate change.

I really do hate that people are just ignoring the issue of climate change. Society should try to prevent it.
