Mental health guidance at HC
December 18, 2020
Good mental health is critical to students’ success in school and life. Especially during a global pandemic, where students are taking online classes and not going to school. HC has many resources for students to use if they ever feel like they need to reach out and discuss with counselors and just a trusted adult to talk to.
If you go to HC’s website there is a section that reads “NTI/2DL”. Under that there is a section that reads “HC Mental Health Support”. When you click on that, a website will show up. This website is a collaboration between School Social Worker, Tori Mason, MSW, and District Mental Health Specialist, Shevan Threats, LCSW, to provide ongoing support during the school’s response to Covid-19 .
Some things that are available on the website include : Numbers to services (mental health, relief and crisis hotlines), coping skills and self care, social emotional learning information, caregiver resources, and a contact page to schedule appointments with a counselor.
There are many available resources on the website. If you ever feel overwhelmed and find yourself stressed, feel free to visit the website for tips and additional resources.
