HC’s annual Spirit Week is approaching. Unfortunately, due to Covid complications, there will be no Homecoming dance this year. Thankfully, that hasn’t stopped the HC Student Council from continuing with Spirit Week themed days.

Previous Spirit Weeks have consisted of themes such as Class Spirit Day, Tropical Tuesday, and the classic Blue and Gold Friday. This year the Student Council has introduced some creative themes.

Monday, October 11th, is Marvel Monday. Whether the superhero is Batman, Iron Man, Spiderman, or even Black Widow, students are free to support their favorite heros, or even perhaps villains.

Tuesday, the 12th, is Tunes Tuesday. This day is used to celebrate your favorite band or artist. The halls are sure to be filled with people dressed in merchandise from Taylor Swift to Nirvana.

Wednesday, the 13th, is Western Wednesday. While no word from administration on whether cowboy hats are approved, this day is meant for cowboy attire and your best boots.

Instead of Class Spirit Day, Thursday is Decades Day. Each grade will dress up for an assigned decade. Freshmen are the 2000’s, Sophomores are the 1990’s, Juniors have the 80’s, and Seniors have the 70’s.

Finally, Friday is the classic Blue and Gold day. Students will show their school pride by wearing either blue, gold, or both. Friday night is also the Homecoming football game against Pulaski county starting at 6:30. The Homecoming Court will be crowned during the halftime show of the football game.

Voting for the Homecoming Court will start on Monday the 11th. Students and staff alike are looking forward to the exciting week at HC.
