The Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville Kentucky has recently been recognized as the top children’s hospital in Kentucky. U.S. News & World Report ranked Norton Children’s Hospital the No. 1 children’s hospital in the Bluegrass State. Norton Children’s also ranked nationally in eight specialties, including: Behavioral Health, Cancer, Cardiology & Heart Surgery, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, and Urology.
“This honor reflects the incredible work of our team,” said Russell Cox, president and CEO, Norton Healthcare in WHAS11’s interview.
U.S. News gathered and analyzed data from more than 100 children’s hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric care professionals. The hospitals recognized as the “best” performed exceptionally well in areas such as clinical outcomes, adherence to proven best practices, and the availability and quality of patient-related hospital resources.
“Being ranked by U.S. News & World Report is an honor and shows the extraordinary commitment of our physicians, nurses and employees,” said Mark McDonald, M.D., medical director and system vice president, Pediatric Medical Affairs, Norton Children’s Hospital in WHAS11’s interview. “Their tireless dedication to caring for kids made this recognition possible. It’s also a reminder and an inspiration to keep striving higher for the children who count on us every day.”
Norton Children’s was not just ranked #1 in Kentucky, but also ranked the 11th-best children’s hospital in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report.
“Being ranked among the best is a powerful validation of the passion and expertise our Norton Children’s team brings to families every day,” said Diane Scardino, chief administrative officer, Norton Children’s Hospital in WHAS11’s interview. “It’s about building a vision where families throughout Kentucky and Indiana can count on world-class care right here at home.”
Norton Healthcare’s Audubon Hospital also has a new treatment for pancreatic cancer that can extend survival rates and improve the overall quality of life for patients. This outstanding treatment is an example of the hard work that has been put into the hospital to take care of their patients.
