Nia Henderson-Louis is a senior at HC. Henderson-Louis is a member of the Student Council and National Honors Society. Henderson-Louis delivers some history and advice for freshman and incoming seniors.
“Don’t procrastinate, because that led me to do a lot more work,” Henderson-Louis said. “If you can do the work early then do it, because you’ll have more time to do whatever you want.”
Student council has positively impacted Henderson-Louis school years. It taught her how to be a great leader and helped get her connected with the students and staff. Student council for her could be stressful sometimes, with having limited time getting everything done.
“I’d say it’s stressed out my school years, but it’s been very nice to reach out to the school in different ways,” Henderson-Louis said.
She helped produce the blood drive, homecoming, and many other events. Henderson-Louis has been involved with many fun and memorable events for the student body.
The National Honor Society was an impactful experience for Henderson-Louis because it required her work more in community service.
“It was nice. It was the first time I had really branched out into different parts of the community to help others,” Henderson-Louis said. “I did God’s Pantry, the Food Chain Lex, and Friends of the Public Library. It was nice to see the different places in which I could help.”
Student council and National Honors Society have ultimately impacted her school years.
“They showed me a lot of patience, especially when it came to working with different people, and also, the different places that I like to work at,” Henderson-Louis said. “All the clubs I’m in have different denominations of people class-wise, personality-wise, I think it helped me work with people more, and find my own people.”
Henderson-Louis has benefited the school and community positively by helping people in the community who needed it, and helping students with leadership positions. With this year being a send off, the Blue Devils wish her the best in her career and future to come.
