Finals week is coming to HC, and students are beginning to prepare for their final exams and the week’s temporary shift in schedules. Some students are exempt from their finals, while others are studying hard to take up to six exams.
The final exams are on December 18th, 19th, and 20th, with the 20th being the last day of school this semester. On the 18th, students will take 2nd and 5th hour finals. On the 19th, students will take finals for 3rd and 6th hour. And on the 20th, students will take 1st and 4th hour finals.
The hour you have during the typical 4th hour slot will change what lunch you have. So depending on what 6th hour students have on Wednesday, they could have a different lunch. This is similar for students during 5th hour on Friday. Lunch will stay the same on Thursday, since 4th hour is during that time.
Students will not be going to advisory these three days of finals, and instead will be spending the hour in one of their first three classes. On Wednesday students will spend advisory in 3rd hour, on Thursday they will spend advisory in 1st hour, and on Friday they will spend advisory in 2nd hour.
With the schedule changes students will be only going to four out of the six classes and will be spending more time in the classes they are taking finals. From 8:25-9:25 students will be in one of their first three classes. Following that, from 9:30-11:30 students will be taking their first finals of the day. After that, students will go to one of their last three classes from 11:35-1:10 and go to lunch at some point during that time. Finally, students will finish their day doing their last final from 1:15-3:15.
Finals can be a stressful time for students, but it’s important to make sure you are well prepared and well rested on the days of finals.
