On December 3rd, Kendrick Lamar announced his upcoming Grand National Tour, co-headlined by SZA. The tour starts on April 19th of next year in Minneapolis, Minnesota and concludes on June 18th in Landover, Maryland. It is the first all-stadium tour for both artists and consists of twenty-three shows across the United States and Canada.
In between Minneapolis and Landover, they will perform in Houston, Arlington, Atlanta, Charlotte, Philadelphia, East Rutherford, Foxborough, Seattle, Inglewood, Glendale, San Francisco, Paradise, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, and Hershey.
The tour follows the release of Lamar’s sixth studio album, GNX. This is the second time the pair is touring together, the last time being the Championship Tour in 2018, under the independent label, Top Dawg Entertainment.
The pair has collaborated on multiple songs throughout the years, such as SZA’s “Babylon,” “Doves in the Wind,” and the single “All the Stars.” On Lamar’s GNX, SZA is featured twice, on “luther” and “gloria,” with “luther” debuting at number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
Tour presale was announced on December 3rd as a partnership with Cash App, with Cash App Visa card owners being able to purchase tickets starting at 10 a.m. the next morning. General sale opened at the same time on December 6th. Ticket prices range from around $100 to nearly $3000, depending on the location, stop, and seller.
Prior to the tour, SZA’s next album, Lana, is expected to drop by the end of 2024. The projected setlist is expected to include tracks not only from GNX and Lana, but also from their previous works, such as Lamar’s DAMN and SZA’s Ctrl.
Fans continue to anticipate more details surrounding the tour and enjoy the releases from both artists.
