The HC Boys soccer team’s season is coming to an end. The team just celebrated their win against Campbell County High School 5-0. They play on Thursday the 31st at 8:00 p.m to determine if they advance to the finals.
“Right now I think we’ve got above a 75% chance [of winning the state tournament],” Blanche said. “[Its] depending on who our semifinal match up is.”
Not only did the team win the region tournament, they also did exceptionally well in their regular season games.
“Our front three have been amazing; Marco, Shukuru, and Brayden are unstoppable,”Blanch said. “As well as the back line and midfield.”
This year is extra special not just because of the players. This is the first year since 2020 that the team played in the state tournament.
“Our coach hasn’t experienced anything like that before,” Blanche said.
They’ve had a few tough games but pulled off some good wins against Covington Catholic, Frederick Douglass, and others.
“I’ve had some club teams who I thought were pretty close,” Blanche said. “But nothing has come close to the togetherness of this team, everyone on the team is just best friends.”
Although there aren’t many traditions, this team has amazing chemistry. . Good luck to our Blue Devils as they hopefully end their season on November 2nd in the state finals, with a victory.
